About the City

Cambridge Ontario

Cambridge is a growing city with something to offer everyone. Whether you're the type to spend the day browsing the Cambridge Farmer's Market, basking in the beauty of the Wings of Paradise Butterfly Conservatory, strolling through the city's more than 300 acres of parks or shopping in the city's many factory outlets, you can explore the many options the city has to offer at whatever pace you choose.

You can stroll through Cambridge's downtown on foot or use the city's transit system for a broader reach. If the city isn't enough for you, the Grand River transit system connects the cities of Cambridge, Waterloo and Kitchener, which makes day-trips between the different cities easy and convenient.

Cambridge itself is a relatively new city. It was formed in 1973, the product of the amalgamation of the municipalities of Galt, Hespeler and Preston, and now has a population that totals over 120,000. Cambridge is famously known as part of Canada's Technology Triangle, along with the cities of Waterloo and Kitchener, and is earning the reputation worldwide as a city of leading-edge innovation and development.
